Most people blog for one of two reasons. First, bloggers blog to tell the world about their personal ideals. These people simply want the world to hear their message. The second person blogs to make money. Now, this second person can be a combination of both types. He blogs to tell the world what he thinks, but also likes to make some money on the side. Regardless of your reasons for blogging, One AdvantageMarketing can give you is a larger audience. When you understand the market for your blog, you can easily drive more people to the blog. Not only does this get your opinions out to a wider audience, it makes you a better fit for potential clients.

For example, if your blog is about cats and the funny things cats do to upset dogs, you really don;t want to spend your limited advertising dollars or optimization on sites geared for dog lovers. Readers will quikcly abandon your page and advertisers will be confused. After all, they found your blog because you love cats and since they sell cat products, having a ton of dog loving readers will not present a good investment in their advertising dollars.

Spend time thinking about the type of person you want to read your blog and then go after that demographic. After all, Led Zeppelin fans don't care too much about Justin Bieber.
