We did it!!! We had decided to fast from TV for Lent and we knew that if all it took was turning on the switch or plugging in the TV to watch it, we wouldn't have enough will power to not watch it. So we cancelled our cable. We had wanted to switch providers anyways, so this was a good time to end our service to make it through Lent.

It was seriously tough at first. We didn't know what to fill our time with. We had several evening in the first week where we were just sort of looking at each other after dinner like, "what should we do now?"! After the first two weeks though, we were used to it and didn't even miss it. We read some good books and played some good board games! We had wondered if we were going to continue TV free even after Lent, but we went to http://www.direct.TV/ and decided to go ahead and get service! We have enjoyed watching some shows together and are just not being too obsessed with TV!
